Teej's visit

When TJ visited me in July, we visited Sacred Chow, a vegan tapas place in Greenwich Village. If you are in the NYC area, you must go during happy hour. This place rocks!

Afterward we met our friends Marie and Renzo for dinner at Franchia on Park Ave, and headed over to watch Chicago. It was good, but not great. My recommendation - save a boatload of money and rent the movie - it is awesome. Teej's 26th birthday was spent at Gobo in New York City, a vegan restaurant with delicious spinach and soy-cheese wontons...and an even more delicious dessert - their version of a Napolean - they brought it out with a candle nestled in it to recognize Teej's birthday. We shared a bottle of wine and chatted. What a lovely time!

Coincidence?

I met a girl who lives in my building, Keri. Here's the crazy part - we both went to UCLA for our Master's degrees at the same time, but didn't know each other. Keri even had friends that lived in the apartment building that Teej and I lived in, whom she visited regularly, but we never met then either! Here's the kicker. We were both in Northern California in March 2005, and she had dinner with a girl I was rooming with and she even came into our motel room for a couple minutes when I was there, but we didn't really remember each other until we pieced this together last month. We were destined to meet!

Toilet seat covers and Dunkin Donuts...an unlikely combination

New Jersey doesn't seem to be as excited about toilet seat covers as California is. I hardly ever see toilet seat covers in bathrooms. In California you get so used to seeing them everywhere. However: one thing New Jersey does seem to be excited about is Dunkin' Donuts...these are EVERYWHERE! And you always see people walking about with coffee from there...not only are they everywhere, but they are crowded and popular. I've been told that it is an east coast thing...they love their DD!
